Very smart and handsome and pretty right? *i'm sorry to the other 3 ladies teams, I'll upload your pictures as soon as i get them ok?* This was our first time ever organizing such event. It was great to see all the teams giving their full support by being formally attired.

The event was postponed to Thursday since it was raining heavily the day before. Alhamdulillah, it stopped raining right before our game on Thursday and we managed to start on time. The tournament followed a knock-out format. There were 7 teams in the men's category (1 team didn't show up) and 4 teams in the ladies' category.

There were quite a number of supporters who came to support their friends. It was all very entertaining and the teams were evenly matched despite the rain during the finals. In the end, team Selamat Hari Raya and Semut Hitam 2 won for the men's and ladies' category respectively.

We hope that everybody enjoyed themselves. We sure did! *grins*

Open Floor

With the financial help from the lecturers, APAcS had organized the OPEN FLOOR in conjunction with Hari Raya. This has been a tradition for us to have this event annually. Although there were some problems due to the faulty lifts * the caterer arrived late*, there were enough food for EVERYONE!! We had lemang *deemed to be wajib*, rendang, popiah, bihun, mee , bi tai bak goreng, lontong, kuah kacang, nasi impit, etc..

We really hope that the students had fun eating and mingling with their friends. Afterall, Hari Raya is about bermaaf-maafan and berkunjung-kunjungan bukan? :) Even the lecturers seemed to be having fun and we had the honor of having our Dean as our guest.

Last but not least, we would like to apologize for any mistakes that we've done. Do let us know if you guys have any other suggestions ok?

Tax Quiz

Preliminary Round
Date : 14/10/08 & 15/10/08
Venue : MS BK1

Finals
Date : 16/10/08
Venue : MS BK1 & BK2

The tax quiz was divided into two categories ie, T9(CAT) and F6(ACCA). During the preliminary, there was 10 teams from the ACCA students. Almost everybody came in prepared and was ready to take on the questions. Their fellow classmates also came to give their never ending support *or was it because of the attendance? hmmm.. we wonder* We also would like to apoligize for some technical errors. Forgive us ok? :) In the end, 3 teams from each category was selected to go into the finals based on their final scores.

As for the finals, each team did their very best and the final scores were very close. Congratulations to the winning teams and as for the others, do try again next year ya? I hope that all of us learned something from this activity. Also, a special thanks to the lecturers who were very supportive and gave their full commitment into making this activity a success.

Movie Night - Pursuit Of Happyness

The committees preparing the place before the event started.
The first group to arrive.
Getting comfortable.
They brought em pillows and soft toys.
Before the movie started.

Last night was the 1st slot of our movie night and as the title says, the movie shown was "PURSUIT OF HAPPYNESS" *the title was purposely misspelled even in the movie itself* . The movie was supposed to start on 8.30pm sharp, but then as usual, tardiness is still a problem. So, we started at 8.45pm instead. There were some students who came early though. Thanks! :)

OK, enough with the nagging. The students who came were given drinks, sandwich, and also snacks. They were told beforehand to bring along pillows, blankies or anything that could make them feel comfortable but only a few girls brought them.

The movie was nice, a few even shed some tears. :'( It finished nearly around 11 and although some of the girls who were staying in Melati didn't have transport, they were sent home by some of the committees. All in all, I would say that the first night went well. Alhamdulillah.

See you guys tonight!! *grins*

*p.s. a post on monopoly will be uploaded soon as soon as we get the picture from sheikh's camera*

Career Week

First of, SELAMAT HARI RAYA!!
Maaf Zahir Batin from all of us here in the committee.

Hari Raya break is over and the upcoming event is the CAREER WEEK. It's going to be held next week (13/10-18/10). Be sure to take part in the activities organised ya?

It was kind of hard for us to organise this event as this is our first. We had tried our best to organise events that are not BORING and can actually benefit all of us professional students. We really hope that everything will turn out just fine if not successful. Insya'allah.

So these are the activities (attend! attend!) :

  1. KPMG Talk : 10/10/08 (Friday), 3.00pm-6.00pm
  2. MOVIE NIGHT : 13//10/08 & 14/10/08 (Monday & Tuesday),
  3. FORMAL FUTSAL : 15/10/08 & 16/10/08 (Wednesday & Thursday), 8.30pm-11.00pm
  4. MONOPOLY : 08/10/08 & 09/10/08 (Wednesday & Thursday), 8.00pm-11.00pm
  5. TAX QUIZ : yet to be confirmed
  6. GROOMING TALK : 17/10/08 (Friday), 3.00pm-6.00pm
  7. PETRONAS : 18/10/08 (Saturday), 8.30am-12.00pm
The highlight of the Career Week has got to be the Petronas Talk *pls don't sigh, it's compulsory for ACCA and CIMA students, ok? but then everyone is invited!* This will be a good exposure for us, especially for those that are in their final year and going into the work field very soon. Must attend ok? (this is like the 2nd time already. see how much we really want u to come? *grins*)

So, we hope to see you guys at the activities! Your support is very much appreciated. And oh! Please please please come on time. We start on time, we can finish on time. Then we can all carry on with our own plans. :)

p.s. Nanti kita makan sama2 kat 14 ok? :)
